The Launch 2020 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum was held in the sixth-floor multi-purpose hall of the BSC Global Maker Incubator, with the aim of pooling technology and innovation resources, supporting company growth and improving incubation services.
The event included the unveiling of the incubator's plaque as a national-level technology business incubator. The award marks the incubator's formal entry into the ranks of national-level innovation platforms and is a milestone after years of building its incubation system and nurturing technology start-ups.
Since its founding in 2015, the incubator has steadily developed its facilities, service system and resource network into a professional model for technology incubation. At the event, project lead Jia Bingjie presented its history, achievements, service system and future plans, tracing its progress from initial set-up to national-level incubator.
The incubator runs a targeted mentoring scheme within its incubation framework, matching mentors to the needs of tenant companies to map out development paths and solve operational problems. At the forum, several promising technology companies gave project roadshows presenting their core technologies, innovations and market potential. Investment institutions and entrepreneurship mentors offered professional feedback on technical innovation, market positioning and operational upgrades to help the companies become more competitive.
The forum also invited leading entrepreneurs and experienced founders to share practical lessons with start-up teams and company heads. Drawing on their own operating experience, the guests spoke about founding motivations, long-term development thinking, paths to innovation and lessons learned, broadening participants' horizons and offering useful reference points.
The event also featured the annual awards for outstanding technology and innovation projects. Based on the 2019 development results, innovation capacity and market performance of tenant companies, a panel of professional mentors selected a number of outstanding technology innovation projects and special contribution projects of the year. The awards recognised the companies' innovations, energised the platform and encouraged a strong incubation culture.
2019 was a decisive year for the incubator. Its designation as a national-level technology business incubator was a major breakthrough that placed it among China's leading professional incubation platforms. Going forward, BSC will build on this status to keep upgrading its facilities and software, complete a full-chain incubation service system and integrate industry, capital, talent and technology resources to help tenant companies improve quality and efficiency. The platform will continue to nurture technology industries, provide a venue for innovation and entrepreneurship exchange, and pursue shared growth with technology companies.
